I tied the knot with the love of my life, my high school darling, and by the age of 19, we relocated from Phoenix, AZ to Jacksonville, NC, guided by our commitment to the Marine Corps. Our fondness for the place transformed it into our cherished home, where we raised our family of five sons and a daughter. As a proud local business owner, I relish the joy of connecting with new faces. My journey into Real Estate is fueled by a passion to guide others towards their homeownership dreams and, of course, to indulge my grandchildren to the fullest. I've worked with Coldwell Banker in past home purchases and had a very professional and pleasant experience. I recently purchased a home using Coldwell Banker expecting the same. Unfortunately my realtor, Raquel Hettinger, did not deliver this. Reasons are the following: 1. Realtor was always late and failed to notify me in a timely manner. 2. Realtor had spouse park in the middle of the driveway at showings, including the final walk through of my home purchase, and allowed spouse to use the restroom at a sellers home during a showing. 3. Realtor always dressed casually in athletic shorts, t shirts and high tops. Do realtors dress professionally anymore? 4. Realtor had no contact with me for over 24 hours after we notified her we wanted to place an offer on a house. This was very stressful. I had to reach out to the realtor and ask for her to be more communicative. 5. Realtor came to the final walk though of our home purchase sick and was visibly annoyed that we asked her to not enter the home. We felt pressured to allow her to come inside as she stated she was protecting our interests. Realtor also wanted validation for what she had done during the home buying process when I thanked the builder. 6. It didn't appear the realtor knew anything about homes based on her lack of information during showings. 7. Realtor notified me 20 minutes prior to closing that she wouldn't be there because she had another appointment. This made me feel like I had been used for a commission and she didn't care about me as a buyer. 8. Realtor contacted me a week after closing asking if we had received the keys because she couldn't find any record of paperwork being filed. We advised he to reach out to the lender and builder. Again, this made me feel she was only a part of this process to get a check. 10. Realtor brought personal issues into showings, ie husband having surgery, mother in hospital. There's a place and a time to discuss these matters but most after you've been late and used these as an excuse. According to our experience Ms. Hettinger needs to work on professionalism, communicating and building relationships with her clients.

From the minute I first contacted Raquel she was on it, I told her what I wanted what I was looking for and she found me a fantastic home that I now own. If it wasn’t for her I would still be overpaying in rent and now I pay less for a mortgage. If you are looking for an agent that will definitely work for you, look no further! Raquel is that agent! Not only did we use Raquel to purchase our townhouse, she helped us sale the townhouse 2 years later. We live over 2 hours away and Raquel took care of everything. Through her help, we did not even make one trip to Jacksonville! When we needed a few repairs to help close the deal, she knew the best people at the best prices to make it happen. I don’t even know where to begin Raquel is amazing ?? I contacted Raquel when our family was stationed at a U.S. Embassy in West Africa, expecting her to get a good laugh at someone who needed help from this region of the world where scams are known to originate (money to a Nigerian Prince anyone?!). We explained the situation and that we would be buying sight unseen, so our trust and confidence was 100% in her hands. She offered to tour homes and send videos to us, which was the perfect solution. If I had any questions about how the property might be altered to suit our needs, she worked independently with her trusted contacts (contractors and landscapers) to consider these issues. Then COVID hit. We were already expecting to buy sight-unseen, but the professionalism and respect that she showed for the homeowners when touring the houses was outstanding as she continued our hunt. Not only did Raquel hit the nail right on the head, but she in fact had a better sense of the house I was looking for than I did! I was wishy-washy on a few things (like a community pool – I wasn’t sure if it was a deal breaker for me to not have one or not), but her intuition picked up on it right away. I have worked with Raquel on the purchase of two homes over the last year and have been extremely satisfied with both experiences. I originally lived in California and moved my family here during the busy summer months. Raquel went above and beyond to help me find the perfect home even though I couldn’t be in North Carolina to see it first hand. She drove to multiple homes across Onslow and Pender counties, took videos of each home interior, and sent those along with floor plans to give me the best possible idea of the layout and appearance of every one. When the home appraisal came back, the home appraised for much higher than our offer, saving us thousands of dollars in the process. So a little back story behind my situation... I was overseas looking for a house to move into upon my return, so I found the house I wanted and got immediately was contacted by Raquel, and let me tell you thank god for her! I bought my house sight unseen and was never stressed out or felt out of the loop on anything despite being 6000 miles away due to her diligence and knowledge throughout the home buying process. She always had the answers to my questions or knew where to get the answers and was absolutley amazing to work with. When we first moved to Jacksonville we weren't able to find the right house but after a couple months we picked up right where we left off in our search with Raquel. We were purchasing our house before doing a cross country move, so we had a couple days to spend in the area and Raquel spend the entire day driving us all over to look at the houses we might be interested in. She was very knowledgeable about the area and even took us back to the house we ultimately decided on multiple times. Raquel has made communicating from several states away very easy and is always prompt to answer.
