WILMINGTON, NC – Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Success Center, an innovative in-house training program that helps both new and existing agents to grow their business. Glenda Newell
, Professional Development Director at Sea Coast Advantage, manages the program and teaches classes on a wide variety of topics, including listing presentations, forms and contracts, marketing and business planning. Open only to Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage agents, the Success Center routinely brings in outside experts and offers classes in various professional certifications and designations.

To the best of my knowledge, the Success center is the most comprehensive in-house training program of any real estate firm in our area and we’re very proud to be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.”
The Success Center is housed within Sea Coast Advantage’s new offices at 110 Dungannon Blvd in Autumn Hall. Class sizes are limited to 12 participants to ensure each agent receives individual attention. The training room is outfitted with multi-media resources and the classes are typically presented in an interactive, hands-on format. Expert guest speakers, including top performing Sea Coast Advantage agents, are often invited to present various topics, ranging from negotiation skills to how to utilize the latest technologies.
One of the most popular courses at the Success Center is entitled “SEAze the Opportunity at Sea Coast.” Created by Glenda Newell, this is a customized, 28-hour program that is mandatory for all new agents and those who are new to the firm. The class is free to all participants, as are most of those taught at the Success Center, and focuses primarily on lead generation and how to build a successful real estate business. Since its inception in April 2013, more than 300 agents have graduated from the SEAze program.
"As a newly licensed real estate agent, the amount of training necessary to get your career started is nothing less than overwhelming,” said Christy Stewart, an agent with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage since May and a recent graduate of SEAze. “Glenda delivered a step-by-step guide on how to build our business from the ground up. The SEAze class was truly a game changer for me and gave me the tools I will use throughout my entire career. I am forever grateful for what I learned in this class. I gained more information and guidance than I ever thought possible in only four days!”
Each week, Newell distributes a calendar of classes available to all Sea Coast Advantage agents. Pre-registration is encouraged, but according to Newell, she operates an open-door policy in which agents are always welcome.
“Our industry is always changing and my job is to help our agents stay abreast of these changes and give them the education and tools they need to consistently operate at the top of their game,” said Newell. “I bring in a wide range of guest speakers that discuss topics ranging from the latest developments in technology to new CAMA regulations. The Success Center also offers our agents one-on-one coaching and consultation, so there is something here to meet everyone’s needs.”
Newell obtained her real estate license in Wilmington, NC in 1983 and has worked with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage since 2003. She is a Certified Instructor through the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and taught at the Sea Coast Real Estate Academy for several years before transitioning to the Success Center. Newell holds numerous certifications and designations, including GRI, Graduate of the Real Estate Institute; ABR, Accredited Buyer’s Representative; SPS, Strategic Pricing Specialist; SLS, Strategic Listing Specialist and MCNE, Master Certified Negotiation Expert.
