Sea Coast Advantage Hires Fred Gainey as Compliance Director
WILMINGTON, NC – Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, the largest and best-selling real estate company in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and Onslow counties, has hired Fred Gainey as Compliance Director. In this position, Gainey reviews all contracts and works with agents to ensure they consistently comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC) and Multiple Listing Service (MLS).

After a career as a first-responder EMT and Captain in the Wilmington Fire Department, Gainey launched his real estate career in 2009 with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage. He went on to work in a variety of capacities in the local real estate market, including sales manager and Broker-in-Charge, before returning to Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage in August 2017 as Compliance Director.

In addition to reviewing contracts, Gainey will host classes and seminars for agents on forms and contracts. Some of these classes will be held in the Autumn Hall office in Wilmington, but Gainey also plans to also travel to Sea Coast Advantage’s 12 satellite offices to ensure all agents are kept up to date on the ever-changing dynamics of real estate forms and contracts.

“There are typically changes to forms every year,” said Gainey. “My job is to help agents stay abreast of these changes and give them the knowledge they need to execute all contracts correctly and in compliance with all Real Estate Commission regulations.”

Gainey a very active member of the Wilmington community and is President-elect of Cape Fear REALTORS®, a non-profit professional organization representing the business interests of 1,850 REALTORS® in Southeastern North Carolina. He also serves as a Regional Manager on the North Carolina Regional MLS and is a member of the Wilmington REALTOR® Foundation. Gainey is a board member of the Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority (WAVE Transit) and New Hanover County Special Board of Equalization and Review.
