Tips for Green Spring Cleaning

Spring has finally arrived and that means Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage agents are working hard with their sellers to get those homes in tip-top shape for showings. A neat and clean home is a great place to start. So if your selling your home this season, or just doing some regular Spring cleaning, our agents had some great "green cleaning tips." Spoiler alert—we love vinegar and baking soda!!
“Baking soda and white vinegar are miracle things that have a zillion uses”
"Use non-toxic, environmentally-friendly cleaning products. Vinegar is a good source for cleaning"
“White vinegar & newspaper for squeaky clean & streak free windows!”
“Use vinegar as a green multi-purpose cleaner for around the house. Vinegar can be used for all sorts of applications from disinfecting to deodorizing and removing stains, to unclogging drains, and it can even be used to remove stickers.”
"Have small children? Chances are there will come a time when they use too much toilet paper. Before you end up with a clogged toilet or (later on) pipes, sprinkle about half a cup of baking soda on the lump of paper in the bowl. Then, douse it with a cup of vinegar. Let the foaming mixture sit for 5-10 mins. This will help break down the toilet paper before you flush. This is also a great combination for a simple cleaning mixture for your toilet."
“There are lots of ways to ‘go green’ when you are spring cleaning. One of my faves is using baking soda. It’ll deodorize and neutralize smells easily and you can mix it with a little water and you’ve got a great scrubbing compound. Hydrogen peroxide is also a good disinfectant.”
“A chunk of lemon down the garbage disposal is a great way to freshen up the smell of your kitchen right before you have guests or a showing”
