Since initially becoming a REALTOR® in 1987, I have felt a tremendous sense of accountability to my clients and an endless enthusiasm for this business.  The idea that I could be a trusted advisor to clients with a wide array of needs has been a constant motivator for me, driving me to further my education, serve the profession and gain experience in a variety of job roles pertinent to the sales process.

To ensure that I can offer my clients the guidance and support they need to achieve their goals, whether buying, selling or investing, I have consistently worked to refine my knowledge and skills.  An aspect of this goal has involved earning a number of education-based designations, including the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute(GRI), Certified Residential Specialist(CRS), Military Relocation Professional(MRP), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Strategic Pricing Specialist, and Strategic Listing Specialist.

Earlier in my career, I worked as a Paralegal, gaining critical experience with contract review and the legal implications of buying or selling real estate.  Working as a loan officer was another key experience, as it has given me an extensive knowledge base to draw from when advising my clients on how to select a loan that is the best fit for their individual circumstances and long-term goals.

Having worked as an assistant property manager and also managed a number of personal investment properties, I have a strong understanding of property valuation, renovation practices and legal codes, as well as how to deal with tenant issues.  The insights I gained from earning a degree in Psychology from Sweet Briar College have been essential in this aspect of my career, along with helping me identify the needs of my clients and negotiate effectively.

For me, resting easy at night means knowing that I have done my utmost to protect the interests of my clients and help them shape a brighter future through real estate.  Sharing the benefits of my experience and the knowledge I’ve worked a lifetime to build is something I’ve been enthusiastic about for many years, which is why I have donated my time to a number of charitable organizations and also served the real estate profession in a variety of leadership capacities.

I understand life is complicated and busy!  Part of the reason I have been able to thrive in this industry for so many years is that I enjoy working around my clients’ busy schedules and adapting a game plan that matches their needs.  In the rare event I have downtime, you might find me at work in the garden, reading or volunteering with Friends of the Library or the New River Garden Club.
