My prior career consisted of 7+ years in the hospitality industry managing restaurants throughout Walt Disney World Resorts in Florida and 11+ years in retail as a Store Manager managing mostly large retailers such as Sports Authority in Florida and Michigan then Target and Staples in North Carolina.
Born in Jacksonville, NC, I spent my childhood moving as my father advanced within the Sprint Corporation. The opportunities I was given to live in Kansas City, KS, and Orlando, FL, exposed me to many different lifestyles and cultures.
In 2004 I began my real estate career in eastern North Carolina, experiencing great success in sales as a multimillion-dollar producer each year. With Sales and Management being my true calling, I have been able to incorporate my prior work experiences to coach, consult, and train REALTORS® since 2006.
As Managing Broker of our Jacksonville office located on Henderson Drive, I am committed to and enjoy maintaining a culture of teamwork, growth, and family. I believe that positive energy and relationships existing in the environment you choose to do business is vital to your success; whether it’s as a licensed real estate agent, buyer, or seller.
Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage has 20 offices and is growing all over southeastern North Carolina with a truly agent-centric perspective where it’s natural to do something nice for somebody daily and you feel like family from day one. John Hoopes is top-shelf, personally and professionally. Unequivocally, John was the best of 12 buyer and seller agents who represented us during the purchase and sale of six homes over a 23-year career in the Marine Corps. He recently represented us during the sale of our home in Jacksonville, NC. As out-of-state owners, we had no hesitation in putting our complete trust and confidence in John to act on our behalf because his integrity is rock-solid. He tirelessly oversaw the clearing of our renters and coordinated the best general contractor and structural engineer with whom I have ever worked to complete much needed repairs in preparation for selling (and there were many, minor and major). John’s market analysis was spot-on because we had a contract within two weeks; however, the buyer fell out. John did not flinch; simply taking it in stride. We put the house back on the market and got a contract within a week, ultimately selling the home for list price. During both selling efforts, John stood by our interests, chased down every loose end, including several the buyer’s agent could not solve, and was relentless in communicating status. There is no doubt that John’s success is directly attributable to his integrity, positivity, dedication to success, and commitment to his customers. If you do not have John represent you, then you are making a mistake that will cost you money.
We were Virginia and trying to sell our home in NC. John went above and beyond by putting water and chemical in our pool for us. He sold our house after one week on the market.
