Tim Milam Named "Philanthropist of the Year"

Today Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty president Tim Milam was named “Philanthropist of the Year” by the Cape Fear Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals at a ceremony hosted by the association at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside.

Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity nominated Milam for the prestigious award.  “Tim demonstrates community leadership while motivating others to become involved in philanthropy,” said Kitty Yerkes, Resource Development Coordinator for Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity.  “We wanted to make sure that he was recognized an as individual who exhibits exceptional personal generosity and civic responsibility.”

Under Milam’s leadership, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty has been involved with the construction of four Habitat homes.  He is also a member of the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors and Advisory Council.  In addition, Tim Milam is the 2011 Campaign Chair for United Way of the Cape Fear Area. 

At the ceremony, Milam said that he dedicated the award to his family and to his Sea Coast Realty family.  He is passionate about giving back to his community and works to instill that same value in the more than 300 agents and staff at Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty by providing them with volunteer opportunities and encouraging them to “do something nice for someone every day.”  As a result, dozens of local organizations benefit from the financial and volunteer contributions of Tim Milam and Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty.

Local Realtors Make Golf Event for Wounded Warriors a Success

Realtors with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty in Southport, NC recently participated in the Wounded Warrior Fellowship golf outing at Camp Lejeune’s Paradise Point Golf Club on June 15, 2011. 

Brunswick County residents from communities including St. James Plantation, Winding River Plantation, and the Southport area organized the event to show their appreciation to U.S. Marines that had been wounded. 

Two busloads of folks from Brunswick County traveled to Camp Lejeune to tee off with the wounded Marines.  They divided into 25 teams of four, each including a wounded warrior and enjoyed an afternoon of golf and barbeque lunch.  Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty sales associates Pat Wisdo and Jerry Wisdo donated bottled water for the event.

“We just thought it would be nice to let these Marines know that we do appreciate their courage and service that they give to our country on our behalf,” said Vic Rosado, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty.

Rosado and his teammates, fellow Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty associates Rob Dooley and Rich Hagan, and Gunnery Sgt. Jasper Heilig won the tournament.  They shot 62 on the par 72 course.

“I cannot tell you all how proud I am of you,” Sea Coast Realty president Tim Milam told them.  “The best thing about Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty is not that we make the most sales, but that we have the best people!”

Santa will be fueling up on flapjacks this Saturday with the gang from Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty!  You're invited too!

Wilmington’s 2010 Turkey Trot

Join Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity for the 2010 Turkey Trot.

You can take part in the Turkey Trot around the Loop (2.4 miles) or Gobbler Family Fun Walk (1 mile).

Registration/Check-in begins 7:30 am and the Run/Walk begins 8:30 am.

The entry fee for Walkers is $15. Runners can register in advace for $20 or register on-site the day of the Turkey Trot for $25. Children 10 & under walk/run free.
