Tim Milam, president of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, is a native of Cabin Creek, West Virginia, which shares the distinction of also being the home town of former NBA star Jerry West. Tim was born to Anthony and Drema Milam on Valentine's Day, 1963, the youngest of six children. Tim learned the value of hard work from the examples set by both of his parents, and by an early age was working in a local grocery store. During junior high school, Tim met his future wife, Vicki, and also pursued an active interest in baseball, playing for his schools and dreaming of the day when he might be a member of his favorite professional team, the New York Yankees.
After graduating from high school, Tim attended the University of Charleston, WV, on a baseball scholarship. During his time there, he and Vicki married when Tim was 20 years old and, two years later, had their first child, Joey. Tim earned a degree in computer science and then entered banking, working his way up from teller to regional collections director. Five years later, at the urging of his brother Paul, Tim and his family relocated to Wilmington, where he entered the real estate business with Wilmington Sea Coast Properties in Wrightsville Beach, which Paul had started and was making successful.
Two years later, Tim and Vicki's second child, Sara, was born as Tim continued to build his real estate career as a sales person and manager. In 1997, Paul decided to move from Wilmington and Tim purchased the business, which had been renamed Sea Coast Realty after joining the Coldwell Banker franchise in 1993. Under Tim's direction, the company has grown from one to a total of ten offices in four Southeastern North Carolina counties, with more than 300 sales associates, staff, and managers. In 2012, the company merged with Coldwell Banker Advantage to form a regional powerhouse. Together, they boast a sales team of more than 600 agents and 26 sales offices in Raleigh, Wilmington, Fayetteville, Jacksonville and other Eastern North Carolina markets.
